In the fall of 2015, I was starting my senior year of high school and was making plans for college and my future. I knew I wanted to go to Georgia College and study Mass Communication. Little did I know that God had a lot more planned for my senior year than just acceptance letters and graduation parties.
I was working as a server at Truett’s Grill in McDonough and Taylor was working in the back preparing the food. We started to notice each other more and took some of our breaks together. The more I saw Taylor and talked to him, I wanted to know him better. One Saturday night, Taylor and I got off of work at the same time and he walked me out to my car. We sat in the parking lot and talked for almost 2 hours. A few days later, Taylor asked me out on our first date and we went out to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. We sat and talked for 4 hours during our and I knew then that Taylor was different than any other guy. Throughout that week, we went on two more dates and Taylor officially asked me to be his girlfriend on September 12th. I had never been happier.
The first few months that we dated were amazing and we were able to be together a lot. January of 2016 rolled around, and Taylor moved to Georgia College. This was really hard for both of us because we were apart almost every day for that semester. When summer came around, Taylor was working at WinShape Camps and we again had to do long distance. Although it was hard to be away from each other, we grew closer and I knew that Taylor was special and I wanted to be with him.
Finally, I was able to start school at Georgia College and Taylor and I were able to spend most our time together again. It was fun to be together. We watched a lot of “The Office”, got a lot of fast food dinners and also cooked the occasional dinner. Some of my favorite memories are of us hanging out together and with our friends at college. We got a lot closer throughout our two years together at Georgia College and I knew Taylor was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
Taylor’s graduation day started out pretty much how I expected it. I got up really early and got dressed in my new dress I had bought special for that day and then went to his graduation. The strap on my dress actually broke right before his graduation but luckily I had my friend there to help me fix it. After Taylor’s graduation, I went to lunch with his family and I remember kind of making fun of him for not eating anything. We then went to front campus to take pictures and I was confused when Taylor’s family stayed in the car. Taylor and I walked around front campus and went over to our favorite spot. I couldn’t tell you exactly what Taylor said but I do remember him asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes and I couldn’t be more excited to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man!
